One evening at the studio, I was inspired to make tiny little mugs. Throwing small requires slightly different technique. Instead of pushing the clay with the inner chunky part of my palms, I use more my fingers. I even hand pulled these tiny little handles! These little mugs are quite thin so they were much more delicate to work with throughout each step of the process. Even the glazing step is more challenging because thin clay absorbs water more quickly, making it more difficult to absorb the glaze.
I have 6 of these, all similar in size.
Firing: Midfire
Clay: Terra red
Made with Amaco glazes
