I've been experimenting with a double firing process where I fire a piece in oxidation first and then in reduction. Glazes often create brighter and more static results in oxidation fire. Reduction fire usually creates deeper colors with more movement. I haven't done enough experiments, but this double firing technique seems to be creating brighter results combined with the depth and movement, which I'm loving.
This little mug was cross layered with 3 different glazes. The last photo on the bottom right shows the glazing technique and also the result after the oxidation firing step.
