This is one of the first handled mugs I made. Notice that the handle isn't as smooth as my later handled mugs. Also, notice that the foot of the mug doesn't look as finished. At this point in my pottery skills I hadn't developed good techniques yet for trimming foots (which is the bottom). I used the back of a large paint brush to push into a piece of clay to create the nostrils. I love how simple this nostril-making technique is =)
