about mug 62

I made this wine mug with a set back in 2018 when I first became obsessed with perfecting this shape. I also had just tried terra clay and loved working with it. Unfortunately when I was trimming the mug, I caused a crack in the base. This is no longer useful as a mug, but can be used as a planter.

The stripes are created with thing strips of tape I lay on the bisque before glazing. After all the tape is placed, I poured transparent glaze over the mug.

Firing: Midfire

Clay: Terra red

Made with glazes at Echo art studio
