about mug 44

I dipped the bottom 2/3 of this mug in Sandy's green and then the top 2/3 in amber.

I was surprised by the colors that resulted when this mug came out of the kiln. I expected that the middle portion would be a burgundy brown because that portion is amber glaze layered over sandy's green, which is a common result I've had on previous pieces.

I love how this piece came out having more of a dynamic gradient of colors where the two glazes clashed.

Firing: Reduction high fire
